# Quick Replies

Type a saved reply, address, date, or time into the current app with a keyboard shortcut. There are six slots, each with its own key.

Needs Rebind 3.5.0 or newer on Windows or macOS. Works with or without Rebind Link.

## Set up

1. Open the package in Rebind and select **Options**.
2. On the **Slot 1** to **Slot 6** tabs, enter the **Text** for each slot you want. A slot holds up to 2,000 characters.
3. Start the package.

## Use

Hold **Ctrl+Alt**, press a slot key (**1** to **6** by default), then let go of all keys. The slot's text is typed into the app you are using.

- **Modifier held with every slot key** on the **Settings** tab swaps Ctrl+Alt for another combination, such as Ctrl+Shift or Cmd/Win+Alt.
- Each slot's **Key** sets its key. Restart the package after changing a key. Text and modifier changes apply right away.

## Dates and line breaks

- `{date}` inserts today's date in the **{date} format** setting. The default `%Y-%m-%d` gives `2026-09-21`.
- `{time}` inserts the current time in the **{time} format** setting. The default `%H:%M` gives `14:30`.
- `{datetime}` inserts both, separated by a space.
- `\n` starts a new line.

## Stop

Stop the package from the editor toolbar, or press **Left Ctrl + Left Alt + K** (**Left Control + Left Option + K** on macOS) to stop all scripts.

## Limits

- While running, the shortcuts replace other uses of the same key combinations.
- An empty slot, or a modifier held longer than a second, shows a notice instead of typing.
- Live use remains unverified on Windows and macOS.
