# Marking Gestures

Hold a key, move the mouse left, right, up, or down, and release to use a shortcut. Small or unclear movements do nothing.

Needs Rebind 3.5.1 or newer on Windows or macOS and Rebind Link, with the mouse and keyboard forwarded through [hardware mode](https://docs.rebind.gg/concepts/platforms). Run only one mouse-movement script at a time. Live hardware use remains unverified.

## Set up

Open the package in Rebind, select **Options** to review the keys and settings below, and start it from the editor toolbar.

## Controls

## Settings

- **Initial bank** chooses the shortcuts each new gesture starts with.
- **Minimum stroke** sets how far you must move. Your mouse's sensitivity (DPI) changes how much hand movement that takes.
- **Required axis dominance** sets how clearly horizontal or vertical the movement must be. Higher values reject more diagonal gestures.
- The **Controls** tab changes the five keys. Choose distinct letters, digits, F1 to F12, Space, Escape, CapsLock, or Menu, then restart the package. Other choices stop it from starting.

## Limits

- Holding a mouse button, Ctrl, Alt, Shift, or Cmd/Win prevents or cancels a gesture. So does a change of app or window title, though not instantly. A cancelled gesture never replays the hidden movement.
- Invalid settings make the package inactive, with a warning, until you correct them.
- Apps must support the shortcuts. On Windows: Ctrl+Z/Y/C/V, Alt+Left/Right, and Ctrl+Shift+Tab/Ctrl+Tab. On macOS: Cmd+Z, Cmd+Shift+Z, Cmd+C/V, Cmd+[ / ], and Ctrl+Shift+Tab/Ctrl+Tab. Media actions use media keys. With Rebind Link they go through your computer and need Rebind 3.9 or newer. On macOS, the Media bank needs Rebind 3.10 or newer.

## Stop

Stop the package from the editor toolbar, or press **Left Ctrl + Left Alt + K** (**Left Control + Left Option + K** on macOS) to stop all scripts. Stopping cancels any gesture in progress.
