# Mouse App Shortcuts

Give your mouse's two side buttons different actions in different apps. In apps you have not listed, the buttons keep their usual behavior.

| Current app | First side button | Second side button |
|---|---|---|
| Browser | Back | Forward |
| Editor | Undo | Redo |
| Spreadsheet | Previous sheet | Next sheet |
| Google Sheets (in a browser) | Previous sheet | Next sheet |
| Figma | Undo | Redo |

Needs Rebind 3.5.0 or newer on Windows or macOS. Rebind Link is not required. Live use remains unverified on Windows and macOS.

## Set up

1. Open the package in Rebind and select **Options**.
2. Check the app lists: **Browsers (back / forward)**, **Editors (undo / redo)**, and **Spreadsheets (previous / next sheet)**. Each already lists common apps. Separate names with commas. Part of the app's process name is enough, so `chrome` matches `chrome.exe`, and capital letters do not matter.
3. **First side button** and **Second side button** default to **Mouse 4** and **Mouse 5**. Turn on **Swap the two side buttons** if the actions come out reversed.
4. Start the package from the editor toolbar. List changes apply on the next click. Button changes apply while the package runs on Rebind 3.9 or newer; on older versions, restart the package.

Google Sheets is recognized when the window title contains "Google Sheets", and Figma when the title contains "Figma" or the program is the Figma app, so both work inside any browser, even one listed under Browsers. Any browser tab whose title contains the word Figma, such as a Figma help page, also gets undo and redo. On macOS, Rebind reads window titles only with the Screen Recording permission; without it, titles are empty. Turning on **Screen capture** in Rebind's Settings is how Rebind asks for it. See [macOS screen capture](https://docs.rebind.gg/concepts/platforms#macos-screen-capture).

## Limits

Listed apps receive a keyboard shortcut instead of the side-button press, so the app must support it:

| | Windows | macOS |
|---|---|---|
| Browser | Alt+Left / Alt+Right | Cmd+[ / Cmd+] |
| Editor | Ctrl+Z / Ctrl+Y | Cmd+Z / Cmd+Shift+Z |
| Spreadsheet | Ctrl+PageUp / Ctrl+PageDown | Option+Left / Option+Right |
| Google Sheets | Alt+Up / Alt+Down | Option+Up / Option+Down |
| Figma | Ctrl+Z / Ctrl+Shift+Z | Cmd+Z / Cmd+Shift+Z |

## Stop

Stop the package from the editor toolbar, or press **Left Ctrl + Left Alt + K** (**Left Control + Left Option + K** on macOS) to stop all scripts. The side buttons return to their usual behavior.
