Hold Caps Lock to move through text without reaching for the arrow keys.
Needs Rebind 3.5.0 or newer on Windows.
| Key held with Caps Lock | Action |
|---|---|
| H / J / K / L | Left / down / up / right |
| U / O | Start / end of line |
| N / M | Previous / next word |
Hold Shift too to select text. Release Caps Lock to type normally. Unmapped keys still type while Caps Lock is held.
Options
- Layer key: the key to hold. It loses its usual action while the package runs, so Caps Lock no longer toggles. Key changes apply while the package runs on Rebind 3.9 or newer; on older versions, restart the package.
- Arrow keys:
hjkl, orijklfor I up, J left, K down, L right. - Start of line, End of line, Previous word, Next word: the keys for Home, End, and word movement. Defaults U, O, N, M.
- Repeat delay and Repeat interval: how soon and how quickly held keys repeat.
- Pass through in these apps: program names separated by commas, such as
notepad.exe. Navigation shortcuts stay off in those apps.
Limits
- Word movement sends Ctrl+Left and Ctrl+Right, so it works only in apps that support those shortcuts.
- Use on Windows hardware remains unverified.
Stop
Stop the package from the editor toolbar, or press Left Ctrl + Left Alt + K to stop all scripts.
